Lively lights, delicious designs and marvellous models.
What more do you want from a fashion show?
Well… I guess front row wouldn’t be too bad either.
Passion for Fashion
I have to admit, I am no faithful ‘fashionista’ or style-savvy siren. Howe
ver, I do love high-street stores like Topshop and River Island, as well a variety of designers from the seductive styles of John Galliano to the basic, yet amazing outfits by Alexander Wang.
It is these people and stores which have built the foundations in the creation of this blog. By working at River Island as a product sales advisor, I had to know the best sellers and the ins-and-outs of every item in order to give customers the best service possible. Not forgetting helping them to create outfits for whatever the occasion! It was that moment in time which set the benchmark for writing about fashion.
Features
The Live Scene has allowed me to use my creative juices and produce features, as well develop my journalistic skills. From This Week’s Wishlist, a weekly feature where I create three outfits from a top fashion store, to Charity Shop Scrounges, where I go shopping on a small budget and write a post about my findings, I am always brewing up new ideas. This makes the blog not only informative, but original as well.
I put a lot of hard work into my writing (I want to be a top-notch fashion journalist working for a women’s magazine… hint hint), by researching designers, trends and style icons, which I then reference and link to in my posts. I take great pride in my work (What’s the point of doing something if you aren’t going to put 100% effort in to it?), so every post I upload on to The Live Scene is checked thoroughly to make sure every last detail is accurate and that the blog is entertaining for all you readers out there!
Front row for The Look Show?
Being a journalism degree student gives you the opportunity to report across all types of media, from online to print to broadcast. With plenty of past experience of working to tight deadlines and interviewing people for a variety of publications, I am always improving my writing skills. Add the fact that I’ve improved my blog viewing figures to the extent where readership is at an all-time high, and it shows that my journalistic talents would be perfect to be unleashed in reporting live at the Autumn/Winter 2011 Look Fashion Show.
